Luxurious Florida Waterfront Living

By Alyssa Mammano

The sound of gentle, lapping waves wakes you just as the apex of the sun peeks over a lush row of palm trees and casts its rays upon glistening ripples in the tide. A beam of light slips through the slats of your window shades, left slightly ajar as to allow the sunrise in. The warm sunlight dances on your skin as your eyes flutter open.

Your spouse stirs as you toss back the sheets and slowly rise, turning to face oversized glass doors that lead out to your private balcony. A glare on the wine glasses left outside from the night before catches your eye as a soft breeze whistles by. You slowly rise and tip-toe across the cool porcelain tile floor, quietly slide the door open enough to slip through and make your way out to your favorite overstuffed chair.

Sliding gracefully into your seat, you take in a deep breath of salty Florida air. The taste lingers on your tongue after you exhale, gazing sleepily into the tranquil surroundings. Your eyes scan the Intracoastal for wildlife sightings when a family of dolphins suddenly emerge. You follow along as they playfully frolic just beneath the surface, breaching periodically as they pass through.

The door languidly glides open and a smiling face greets you with a steaming cup of coffee, brewed to your exacting specifications. You reach for the cup and indulge in a delightful first sip as the rich aroma fills the air. You feel the hushed “ahhh” escape your lips as you sink back into your chair and enjoy this peaceful moment before the day’s endeavors are truly underway.

A gray pelican drifts through the air, swooping down to scoop up a small fish swimming too closely to the surface. It lands on a nearby marker for a restful pause to enjoy its first catch of the day. You spot a pontoon approaching in the distance, slowly cruising toward you carrying a fisherman with his family in tow. You suggest a similar set of activities for the day to your partner, who quickly agrees to another day spent at sea.
