The Jetsons are Moving to Miami

The futuristic Jetsons family who drove around in flying cars may not have been too far off. In fact, developer of PARAMOUNT Miami Worldcenter, Dan Kodsi, is willing to bank on it. Complete with a Skyport designed for flying cars, the PARAMOUNT Worldcenter in Miami, Florida is set to open this Spring and is already more than 75 percent sold. The luxury condominium high-rise is comprised of 500 units ranging from 1,180 to 2,350 square feet, each with city and bay views. The residences start at $750,000 and the skyscraper has already done $400 million in sales. (more…)

With humble origins of pineapple farms, today’s Boca Raton, known to more than 200,000 residents, has made great strides over the past millennium. The earliest cataloged history of Boca Raton, Florida noted its beginnings as a Tequesta Indian settlement. It wasn’t until the construction of the Florida East Coast Canal, which is today’s Intracoastal, as well as the Florida East Coast Railway in the 1890s, that Boca began to boom. The newly-developed accessibility brought pioneers to the area in the early 1900s who created a small agricultural community. Just a quarter of a century later, in 1925, the Town of Boca Raton was incorporated. This was during the pinnacle of Florida’s rush for land and expansion. (more…)

Earlier this year, Forbes released their full list of cities to invest in a primary residence or income property based on a survey by Local Market Monitor that tracks market trends in 300 major U.S. real estate markets. These markets are not necessarily conducive to flip houses, as the growth rates are projected for long-term development. Rather, these are the best cities to plant roots and purchase a primary residence with little risk, or purchase an income property with rental potential. Topping the list are several southern states, including our home state of Florida with two of its cities making the top ten. Another, perhaps surprising, top contender is Utah with several up-and-coming areas. Below we identify Forbes’ findings for the top ten cities to invest in housing this year. (more…)
